Who we are

We are responsible for the personal information described in this notice (the “responsible party” under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act, POPIA).
What we collect
Only what you choose to send us through the contact form on this website: your first name, last name (optional), email address, phone number (optional), a subject (optional), your message and, if you started from a product page, the product you asked about. If you email or phone us instead, we have what you tell us.
This website has no accounts, and it does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
Why we use it
To answer your enquiry, for example a question about a product, a quote or a brochure. We do not sell your information.
Who handles it
- Our inbox. When you press Send message, this website emails your message to Surgimed. The email is sent through Microsoft 365’s mail servers, from a mailbox run by ZANi Systems, the company that built and hosts this website.
- The website’s server. The page and the contact form program run on a server in Germany. The form program passes your message on as an email and does not keep a copy.
- Spam protection. The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated programs. It loads from challenges.cloudflare.com only when you start using the form, and Cloudflare receives technical information about your browser and network address for that purpose. - Maps and videos. The map (Google Maps) and the product videos (Vimeo) load only after you press the button to show them. Once you do, those companies see your visit under their own privacy policies.
Because of the points above, your information may be processed outside South Africa. Each of these companies protects it under its own commitments and the safeguards the law requires.
Cookies and browser storage
This website sets no cookies. If you use the “Pause animations” button, your choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage on your own device. Nothing is sent to us.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details only as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and for normal business records.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how we use it. Write to surgimed@netactive.co.za. If you are not happy with our answer you can complain to South Africa’s Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za (opens in a new tab)).
